Inspired by KCR's efforts to weave together traditional cultural knowledge and modern day science, this design was illustrated by the talented local artist Shannon Kerner. The design honors several akua associated with KCR's work including:
- Hina'aimalama (associated with changing phases of the moon)
- Hina'ōpūhalako'a (associated with spiny sea creatures, growth and reproduction)
- Hina'lua'iko'a (associated with coral spawning)
The traditional ecological knowledge represented by these akua helps inform the organizations monitoring efforts and overall restoration approach.
This tee is made from 100% cotton with a unisex fit. It comes in black or white and is perfect for everyday wear.
All proceeds go toward coral restoration efforts in Hawaiʻi.
